Livre d'or

Vivien, Irlande Irlande

My partner and I stayed here for a couple of days in April 2015, en-route from the Loire to Northern Brittany. Françoise and her family were very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, providing good information about the local area.

The gite was very comfortable for the two of us, with an outside eating area/patio. There is a modern bathroom, and a tastefully decorated living space. The compact space is very well thought out, and beautifully kept. There is a properly equipped kitchen with a spacious eating area. The kitchen table is next to a window, this completely opens inwards, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful views of rolling hills and distant village, even when inside. The outside area is lovely also, and we enjoyed our lunches outdoors, relaxing, listening to the birds, and enjoying the garden. The garden is a welcoming space in which to walk, rest, and even has lots herbs to use when cooking.

The gite feels very snug, with wood paneling, and nice looking fireplace/stove though we didn't need to use it. The large and comfortable bed, with wool blankets, makes for a great night's sleep.

The gite adjoins the home of the owners, yet one has a sense of privacy here, both inside and outside. Located in a rural area, this peaceful gite is an ideal base to enjoy the local walks. Françoise has leaflets and information on these routes, which take you on quiet car-free roads, and across country lanes, peppered with little hamlets and scenic views.

In summary the gite is wonderful value for money, with a homey feeling, and relaxed hosts. We will be very happy to return here.
